More ideas than will fit in a single release

Work is progressing well with the new “Lisa Unwound” game. We’re still on target for a Halloween-ish release of version 1. Or I guess that would be version 2 since the original release a few years back (that this game is an expansion of) would sort of be version 1.
I’ll figure out the “proper” number for each version before the end of October. Regardless, this updated expansion will have multiple versions. I have a few too many story arcs I want to include to make you guys wait until I get them all done for a single version.
I’ve pondered the question in years past: how do you avoid having monumental releases that take 2, 3, 5 years or more to complete? What’s the best way to release partial versions along the way, so that people can be playing and enjoying them before everything is finally finished?
I’ll talk more about it next time, but I’m thinking that we can make clean versions by saying, you get this character to this stage, and that character to that stage, and that’s version/release N. Both characters have more they can do, but that will be in version/release N+1. If we’re clear about what stage each character can get to in version N — I think that will be a clean way to do partial interim releases, to have fun with the game all along the way, instead of waiting for one huge finish at the end..
Until next time, live well,
Wolfgang
