Taking it out for a test drive

Well, I’ve been coding up a storm the last couple weeks.

Most of the logic changes have been worked into the game engine. And so far, no major snags — yay!

To run the engine through its paces, to shake any quirks out, I’ve been translating part of “Lisa Unwound” into the new format.

Ha, but darned if it isn’t fun revisiting Dr Diggler and Lisa. And Lisa’s BFF Pauline. And Pauline’s mom, Professor Williams (Prof. Williams is the embarrassed chick with the feather duster above).

Fun enough that the thought keeps occurring to me to borrow just a little time to release a remastered and updated version of “Lisa Unwound.” Now, the other game I talked about — about our hero and his girlfriend’s mom and the stage hypnotist, tentatively titled, “Taking Sinner Stage” — is still on the table. The question is whether to plow directly into that new game, or dally briefly updating the older game with Diggler and Lisa.

Let me know if either game sounds more interesting to you, and I’ll factor in feedback I receive.

That’s a Wrap

Being honest

We now reach the end of our adventures with Kyle and Jen and the others, at least for now. I have downloadables prepared for 20$ patrons, and reminder links available for everyone.

I’m reusing the same image for this post as for last one because I think, of all the 3000 images I’ve created for “A Matter of Will,” this one is probably my favorite. “Being honest” is a pretty apt caption for it.

The links to both free visual novel books (Book 1 and Book 2) are below.

For 10$ and above supporters, I’ll post separately all the on-line links for R-rated (and unrated) versions for both books.

For 20$ supporters, I’ll post separately the links for downloadables, where you can play the visual novels on your local PC without the lag time of the internet serving up images. Plus, you’ll have all the images of both books to browse at your leisure.

I do know my next project will be a game where you can make action choices and work your way through to higher levels.

So far, the idea I mentioned to some of you is holding up, so is likely to be the general plot for the upcoming game. You take your girlfriend — along with her mom, who thinks you are just not good enough for her little angel! — to see a stage hypnotist. While volunteers are getting tranced up on the stage, you notice that your girlfriend’s mom seems to have … slipped into a bystander’s trance beside you at the table. Hmm … what could we possibly do with that little turn of events?

Games take a little more time than visual novel chapters, so I’m not sure yet when I’ll have something showable on the game. But I’ll keep you all posted on how it’s coming as I work on it.

One thing Kyle WOULD have wished different

whew!

Chapter 28 of “A Matter of Will” book 2 is now available. And that’s a wrap on the tale, folks. There WILL be one more release — see below.

We tie up loose ends in this chapter, with one small remaining twist. And this is the end of the tale we’ve spun for Kyle and Jen.

There will be one more release, about May 1st, updating the credits with the names of 20$ supporters. I’ll also have a downloadable version prepared that you can download and play (HTML/JS) on your PC (plays much faster than over the internet, plus you’ll have all the images from the visual novel). The downloadable version will be a bonus for 20$ supporters.

AMOW has been a lengthy project — nearly 3000 images and over 2.5 years of work. Whew! My next project will a game, rather than a visual novel. More details I can’t give yet because they haven’t been decided. I’ll be back in a few weeks with all the details decided and a new game to create!

What did you DO, Bill?

Chapter 27 of “A Matter of Will” book 2 is now available. We’re getting near the end of the book, so no sexiness this chapter, just plot.

The next morning, Kyle still has the problem of how to keep all this from just happening all over again. Apparently, so does Bill. Do the two men kill each other?

Hope you enjoy! Next up is the finale (and a little sexiness returns).

I have two big projects maybe coming due at my mundane job, so I’m going to target Apr 17 for the next release. I’ll announce if I get it done earlier than that. And that will finish up book 2. After that, there will be one more AMOW release — the downloadable (i.e., faster) version for 20$ and above supporters.

Kyle still had his steak knife if it came to that

Chapter 26b of “A Matter of Will” book 2 is now available. This is the second half of chapter 26 (told you I’d get it done a few days early).

So … Kyle checks that Victor’s higher self did what he said he did with that ritual (the guy was all dressed in white angelic robes, but I still didn’t fully trust him, either).

Just two more chapters left to go, and Kyle’s tale will wrap up.

I’m going to target Mar 20 for the next release.
